MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — According to a Facebook post, leaf collection bins are now in place at several Meridian City parks for use by Meridian residents. Meridian Parks and Recreations notes these are for leaves only, so no branches, pumpkins, garden plants, etc. Leaves must be loose or in paper leaf bags. No plastic bags or cardboard boxes are allowed. Leaf drop bins can be found in the following parks: Centennial, Fuller, Gordon Harris, Heroes, Kleiner, Renaissance, Settlers, Storey and Tully.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Tatjana Patitz, one of an elite group of famed supermodels who graced magazine covers in the 1980s and '90s and appeared in George Michael's "Freedom! '90" music video, has died at age 56. Patitz's death in the Santa Barbara, California, area was confirmed by her New York agent, Corinne Nicolas, at the Model CoOp agency. Nicolas said the cause was illness, but did not have further details.

(CNN) — A group of hostages is recovering after being freed by Hamas as a temporary truce took effect, bringing a halt to fighting after weeks of conflict. Thirteen Israeli civilians were freed along with 11 foreign nationals in the initial exchange. They are all said to be well, bringing to an end the first stage of the painstakingly negotiated arrangement between the warring sides with the help of foreign mediation. More hostages were expected to be freed Saturday, but Hamas has delayed the transfer until the “terms” were agreed to by Israel relating to aid and the release of Palestinian prisoners.
